Background

Web Design is the creation of digital environments that facilitate and encourage human activity; reflect or adapt to individual voices and content; and change gracefully over time while always retaining their identity.

  • Description: By using Wordpress I was able to do many template enhancements and developed a few interesting plug-ins that gave Tracie a lot of control in her admin area. I then went the extra mile and had several video chats and training sessions with Tracie showing her how she can manage and maintain her own site. Tracie was one of my best clients to date and as you can see she can still maintain and manage her own site with the extra effort i put forth. I still reach out to Tracie every so often and she always says the same thing. "I am all good Joe thanks, you still rock!"

Print

Print design is 2-dimensional, with much attention paid to layout. It is obviously possible for the reader to turn the page, but substantial interplay between different spreads is rare. Typically, each view is a design unit created for a fixed size canvas - often a big canvas when designing newspapers or posters.

Logo's

Logo design identifies a company or product via the use of a mark, flag, symbol or signature. A logo does not sell the company directly nor rarely does it describe a business. Logo’s derive their meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolises, not the other way around.

The general approach to this project was to work with the owner and come up with a simple logo creation that was ment for print on many different kinds of media.

  • Description: This was a team project with the company because I had the owner send me some ideas which made the whole process a little faster. I began altering the logo they had already created and then soon realized they were not to happy with what they originall told me. I then started asking several questions and had Knick send me a few logo examples of what he like and to add a few reasons why he like the ones he did. This made my job a little easier to be able to have a better idea as to what he wanted. Knick was blown away at the end result and is more than happy.
